Artiste Management Looking Ahead

Translated gist provided by Hyc at EverythingLBH, soompi.com from kr.news.yahoo.com

Lee Byung Hun, Choi Ji Woo and Lee Mi Yeon enter Hollywood type agency management

“Hollywood system” is introduced in promoting them, and several stars and others are already moving under such system.

According to the system, an agent divides existing management business between a manager and an agent (entertainment plan person), and makes sure that he’ll take charge of only performing artist’s contract business (with broadcast firm, movie firm, drama making company and advertising agency).

BH Entertainment, established independently by top star Lee Byung Hun is said to be leading a domestic agency as well as managing overseas agent work. This company’s vice president Mr. SongWM has been professionally in charge of the Japanese marketing for LBH since 2002. He is now personally handling Choi Jiwoo’s work in Japan. At present CJW’s belonging company is Olive 9. But a contract for overseas business progress is made separately with another agent (i.e BH Ent). Continue reading ‘Artiste Management Looking Ahead’

Seoul Expectation a Summer Release

A couple of previous articles on GBW that we’ve only found out recently. Still a good info to note on how things are really going. Currently, lots of excellent new movies are being released for the Lunar New Year holidays. So.. it’s a blessing, too.. that GBW got pushed to a later release but it’s definitely premiering at Cannes which is going to be awesome and highly-anticipated by Korean movie fans.

‘Good’ release bumped to summer

By Mark Russell

SEOUL — Kim Jee-woon’s Manchurian western “The Good, the Bad and the Weird,” perhaps Korea’s most anticipated film of 2008, has seen its domestic release pushed back to early summer, The Hollywood Reporter learned over the weekend.

The story of Korean outlaws in 1930s Manchuria, “The Good” had been scheduled to open around Lunar New Year, in early February, but shooting delays to the ambitious project have forced the production company to aim for the lucrative summer season instead.

“Actually, we like it better,” said Chi Sang-eun, manager at Cineclick Asia, the movie’s international sales company. “We were planning on presenting the movie at Cannes anyway, so now we can try to premiere it there. This is ideal for us.”

With director Kim, who directed such critical and commercial successes as “Tale of Two Sisters” and “A Bittersweet Life,” and three of Korea’s biggest stars — Lee Byung-hun, Jung Woo-sung and Song Kang-ho — “The Good” has been closely watched since it was announced in early 2007. Hip Korea Seoul Savvy Hunnie

What kind of life is most perfect in Lee Byung Hun’s opinion?

"I think no one will term their life as being perfect, but, we must learn to be content." As there is nothing that anyone can hold on to indefinitely, including happiness; therefore, possessing an optimistic outlook and attitude is very important; one must constantly remind oneself, "I am very happy."
