Lee Byung Hun Draws Crowds of Fans in Japan

Actor Lee Byung-hun has been visited by more than 2,000 Japanese fans nearly every day during his stay in Akita Prefecture, Japan to shoot his new drama “IRIS,” his agency BH Entertainment said.

“We kept the shooting locations secret, so only some key staff knew about them. It was surprising how the Japanese fans found out where the shooting was taking place, and as many as approximately 2,500 fans came to a shooting site to see Lee every day,” the agency said. “The Akita Prefecture government had police and security guards stationed for emergencies, but no regrettable incidents happened.”

Since the Korean actor arrived on March 9, the Japanese prefecture has seen many of his fans pour into the area from all over the country, filling up all hotels and motels although it is the off season, according to the agency. “Some 300 fans were even waiting for Lee at the hotel where he was staying from morning until evening.

Female Fans flocked to see Lee Byung Hun return home

Korean Star, Lee Byung Hun who has visited Akita because of filming, returned home on 28 March via Akita’s airport. More than 400 female fans made their way to the airport just to say good-bye to him.

At about 11.50am, ByungHun-ssi arrived at the airport in a black car, fans who have gathered around started cheering on him. He waved and smiled to them while moving toawards the airport.

Lee Byung Hun’s agency BH Entertainment on the 26th disclosed that IRIS filming is currently progressing in Akita Japan with a high number of local fans gathering at the set everyday. Since the filming started on March 10th, over 2,500 Japanese fans have been flocking the Akita Prefecture to see Byunghun-ssi and the cast of IRIS.

Agency official also adds that daily, about 300 fans waited all day in the trembling cold weather to see actor Lee Byung Hun whom in the evening would come out to meet them, offering a warm handshake. According to the Akita Accommodation Tourism board, fans are continuously coming each day to Akita despite the hotels’ reservation have been fully booked since early March.

Jung Woo-sung named best supporting actor at Hong Kong festival

The GOOD Guy Jung Woo Sung told media that the honor of receiving the award is not only  for himself but the glory is for the other two GBW actors as well.

SEOUL, March 24 (Yonhap) — South Korean actor Jung Woo-sung was selected the best supporting actor for his role in “The Good, the Bad, the Weird” at Hong Kong’s Asian Film Awards (AFA), the event’s Web site said Tuesday.

Jung played “the good” in the South Korean spaghetti western, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and drew the largest audience at home last year. Jung competed with three other candidates including South Korean Lee Byung-hun who starred in the same movie as “the bad.”

The South Korean movie, directed by Kim Jee-woon, was nominated in eight categories at this year’s AFA, including best film and best actor.

On April 3rd, Mr. Lee Byung Hun’s star shop in the 9th Avenue Mall will be opening. It will be a short ceremony of about 30 minutes in the afternoon. It’s likely that Ms. Choi Jiwoo will also participate in the shop opening as her Stylus Shop is just next to LBH Star Shop.

Lee ByungHun – no schedule conflict

According to the latest news, BH Entertainment told media on March 19 that LBH’s movies & drama schedule will not clash despite a number of major projects and activities he’s committed to.

They said they have already foreseen the schedule dilemma that Byunghun-ssi might encounter even before filming IRIS and have been working very hard to negotiate with the production team to adjust the schedule so that BH could attend the movie events of ‘I Come With The Rain’ in June and ‘GI Joe: Rise of Cobra’ in August, respectively plus the related activities. They recalled the very tight schedule LBH has had last May while filming ‘GI Joe’ in Prague and had to squeeze out time in between filming to attend the Cannes Red Carpet event for movie ‘The Good, The Bad, the Weird’.
