Lee Byung Hun, a respected actor for his constant strive for excellence & hardworking attitude

On June 25, actor Lee Byung Hun consented a media interview while he was filming IRIS in Budapest, Hungary. The upclose and personal meet was held at one of the open cafes village square.

When asked the secret of being one of the long-runners in the competitive Korean show-business industry, Lee Byung Hun said “I have never intended to be a long-runner but I have been running through so fast, concentrating on my job so hard. The person who makes every effort to do his best in his job will always win the approval from people and never be treated bad. I was so lucky. I am happy to be loved by people for a long time. I wanted to keep running just like now even after 10 years more. Once an actor, I will always be an actor.”

BH also mentioned that he’s always trying to be professional in whatever he does and the secret of his success among fans was not intended; he just strives to do his best and is still on the run. He feels fortunate that he is able to continue pursuing his career thus far and feels especially lucky and blessed to have fans who have ceaselessly & continuously supporting him all these years.

He also commented that it’s very interesting to see his fans from each country expressed their loves and supports very uniquely. “My fans in each countries have different ways of expressing their love so that it’s hard to know in which country I am popular most. “

Apparently LBH has nothing to worry that will hold him down even as there are countless new faces, younger actors and upcoming talent trying their hands in the showbiz industry — he will still continue running the race and pursuing what he is doing now even in the next 10 years! The truthful confidence by Lee Byung Hun had the interviewer feeling amazed at the actor’s youthful & energetic spirit.

Back to the topic of filming IRIS on location in Hungary.. to capture a good drama, the setting of the filming location is crucial; one such important set used is the Royal Palace in Budapest. Normally a nice sunny weather is perfect for filming; but when filming one of the action scenes at the palace it was raining and the effect turns out to be pretty interesting as well and that scene reminds Byunghun of the famous tourist place in France called Western Loire.

However there has been an accident during one of the car chasing scenes and Lee Byung Hun had hurt his shoulder. He said, “My shoulder is still numb” and he touched his shoulder. (Please take care Byunghun-ssi!)

The actor was also asked his personal view regarding the North-South Korean political divide as he had been in similar situation-related work as in Joint Security Area (JSA, 2000) and the upcoming IRIS. Lee Byung Hun explains that the reason he chose IRIS was simply because he really like the storyline and content. He further stated that said when he chooses a project, he usually look at the storyline. “I am not particularly interested in the issue of North-South Divide more than others, its story is more important for me rather than the subject when I choose the work.”

When the interviewer interrogated Lee with the love question again, he said that his family has already given up on him when it concerns the marriage issue. However he said he is not worried about marriage because someday it will happen. “My family seems they already gave up long time ago and they don’t even worry about my marriage anymore. I will marry someday. “

This prompts another question if he’s confident that he will get married anytime soon and BH held both hands up showing a no-no gesture. “Are you confident yourself that you can marry whenever you wanted? “When I was younger, yes. But now, I am not.” and he waved his hands with a big smile.
